+ About Me

So, a whistle stop tour of my musical life! Born and bred in Derby, I started piano lessons at the age of 4 and have been doing music in some form or other ever since. In primary school I started to learn the flute, and swiftly moved on to the oboe before joining Derby Cathedral choir at the age of 9. I played and sang all through school, and by 16 I had grade 8 in piano, oboe and singing. I have played in bands, orchestras and sang in some of the most amazing places (Japan, Italy, Paris to name a few!) I studied singing at Birmingham Junior Conservatoire during 6th form, before heading to uni and studying music at The University of York.

After graduating, I moved to Berkshire to become a teacher with Berkshire Maestros and taught singing and piano whilst leading choirs. At one point, my youngest student was 4, and my oldest was 70! It was there I decided to train to become a Music Therapist and studied for my Masters degree from which I graduated in 2020. I moved back to Derby in 2018 to finish studying and be closer to my family.

When my older sister got married in 2018, I got together with a few friends to play as a band for her reception as a bonus wedding gift and... House of Harmony was born! Shortly after, Jamie and I formed Acoustic Tapestry, and my love for performing at weddings and parties grew and grew! After having my daughter in 2023, I decided now is the time to chase my dream of being a wedding singer, and find a way to spend more time with her, my husband and our lovely dog, Xena.

That's a lot to read about a person, but all you really need to know is that I love to sing, and I want to make the most important parts of your life extra special with the beautiful memories of music. I can't wait to hear from you!
